A friend of mine recently moved into a small apartment on her own due to some family issues. Money is very tight, and I've been helping her out with some household necessities as she needs them. Needless to say, the prior tenants of her apartment seemed to have a penchant for cooking with curry. Lots of it. All the time. Don't get me wrong, I love me some chicken curry every once in a while, but it's been a month since we moved her in, and when I pick her up she gets into my car and I still get punched in the face with the odor.
I've done some reading, and short of lighting the place on fire, one of the only options I see is to get an ozone generator. The type of thing you shut all the windows, turn it on, and evacuate the premises. They usually come with a timer to set for 2-4 hours at a time. I'm considering just buying one on Amazon; there are plenty with pretty favorable reviews. My only concern are the upstairs tenants. If we did a couple intense ozone sessions in there, is there any chance the stuff could creep up through the ceiling and cause issues for the people upstairs? It's baseboard electric heat so there's no duct work in the building. Or am I just utterly crazy for falling for advertising gimmickery? Thanks in advance!
