I'm glad it's still there and hasn't burned down, like some of those old lodges. We used it as a hideout, the cabins next to the lodge were old and creaky, and I think some of them burned down as the newer ones don't have the same "feel" as the place in the early 70s.
That is a really nice place to let the world go by sitting by the river cascading down and enjoying the environment.
Of course, Telluride is a completely different story....and that festival is fun as it's not a nuts as the Bluegrass event in terms of the overwhelming number of people it draws to town. I've missed going to that the last several years to go to Utah instead for racing, but that too will come to a grinding halt eventually, and hope to get back into spending more time in SW Colorado. Pretty stunning place and powering up Dallas Divide on boost is a real joy if you can find the guy that's patrolling and offset your spirited runs......I used to sit and wait for him to go by, and then head the opposite direction on that stretch of road to do some "testing"....:-_)
