commodore 64 was the second computer I learned programming on (I was young then, like 10). It was great for that! I did already know how to type and had used a typewriter and even had my own little electric typwriter... ironically for this thread, it was a "Brother"... ha! And I used some liquid paper and occasionally had to retype a page on the old mechanical one (there were correction sheets you could slip in to stamp a white over top for minor typos).
Funny, that was just a few years before TSN started. Scott was way ahead of the curve!
