The furnace, and I avoid models with too many bells & whistles that will only fail in the future, utilizes a blinking LED on the main control panel that gives you the code of the failure mode. The LED is visible without removing the door and the code descriptions are on a sticker outside the blower cabinet as well.
The code for yesterday's even was 1 blink followed by 2 blinks, failure to ignite. Turned power off, turned power on, blower went through its 90 second cleanse cycle (also indicated by a blinking code) then furnace attempted to start three times. Glow ignitor stayed black. Most common problem cause for that is a failed $30 glow ignitor although a failed $300+ circuit board could also do it.
If installation of the new part is not intuitively obvious, then chances are someone on YouTube has filmed themselves installing the same part.
