My sons and I waited to make our hotel reservations last year until after the full on-line package of events from the Central Pennsylvania Saab Club was available. Consequently we could not get a room at any of the recommended hotels real close to the activities. We stayed at the Microtel in Enola PA for Saabs@Carlisle 2015 and I give it a strong recommendation. With a local college commencement this same weekend this year the closest hotel rooms may be in short supply for 2016. We arrived on Thursday before the activities started and aren't huge fans of Barbecue so we needed restaurants for two evenings too.
Hotel is only 7 miles or so from the activities.
New and Clean facility.
Free daily breakfast.
Two routes to the Fairgrounds, one via expressway and one via winding back roads.
You avoid the need to make left turns on the very busy multi-lane road to the event. A road that is flanked by most of the package advertised hotels.
Easy driving to a number of great restaurants. Center Street Grille in Enola, and Chalit's Thai Bistro in Mechanicsburg were two great ones we found.
A couple Saabers from Wisconsin were there last year too.
