The small hand pump orchard sprayers do not push the solution very high in the air as you have already discovered. My Dad fitted a small gear pump to the PTO on his lawn tractor, bought a spray wand and hose kit at a Farm Supply store, placed a garbage can in the trailer behind his yard tractor to hold the solution, then sprayed his 12-15 tree home orchard from the seat of his yard tractor. He also found he needed to float a board on top of the solution to keep it from sloshing out of the garbage can when driving across the yard.
Any power equipment you can retrofit? Does anyone make backpack style orchard sprayers powered by a weed-wacker motor?
