Overbased Calcium Sulfonate Grease - Rubber Safe? - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I need to grease my sway bar links. I opted to grab an overbased calcium sulfonate (OBCS) grease instead of the lithium complex ones due to the water resistance. I bought the WD-40 True Multi-purpose. I can't find anything online about rubber safety for these greases. Anyone know? Or should I stick to silicone and if so which grease?
Also, the can says not to mix grease types. Can I use the OBCS grease as it will mix with whatever remains in the link end?
While in there, should I grease the tie rod ends (no zerk fitting)? Would I have to inject it under the boot? Should I use a needle or is there a better tool?
