So I take the car to the local shop to have it evacuated figuring that I correctly dx my problem. Guy states he used to do AC work for a long time at honda and seemed to know the car, I tell him my symptoms and gauge readings and he hooks it up.
Guy comes back and says the unit is empty, which made no sense. I watched the compressor turn on and the pressures change at home. We go back and forth and play around he vacuums and refills it at least twice.
He checks the evap core when running and says it is getting cold, then he tells me he thinks the compressor is bad and it needs replacement. At this point I have zero idea what is actually wrong. There is no evidence of a leak and no dye anywhere. I'm still convinced that I was correct it was an expansion valve blockage since my high pressure went up as my low went down.
I wonder if the vacuum moved a small piece of something somewhere else. Who knows. I get home and hook up the gauges and I have a perfect 40psi on the low and 200 on the high. I currently have a working ac without having to open the system. We will see what tomorrow brings.
But I am still more confused then ever as to what is actually going on
