Just another means to illustrate how far behind the times I truly am...........
My wife likes listening to the Vitamin String Quartet and has asked for some of their music. No problem I thought, until I went to their web site and started searching. Nothing has ever been released on CD. Some albums have been released on vinyl but all are out of stock. Everything is available as mp3 however.
I have 100% confidence her laptop will play mp3 files, she currently listens to some of their music via her laptop. Our home CD player accepts USB thumb drives and plays mp3 format per its instruction manual.
Are their any Gotchas that I need to be aware of when purchasing a thumb-drive, or when installing the downloaded files onto the thumb-drive, to ensure ease of use? If so, what are they?
Last week I copied 15 years worth of home digital photos, 4500 files, from our home PC onto a thumb-drive for an additional backup. I deliberately purchased a USB3 thumb-drive for the increased speed. 4500 photos required 3.8GB of space and only 6 minutes of time to copy. So I am not a complete Noob.
Should thumb-drives used for Audio also be USB3 capable, or is USB2 sufficient, or is it plain stupid to not pay for the highest speed available regardless?
