I have had my Chinese Tech 2 that I got on Aliexpress nearly ten years ago.it looks and works exactly like an authentic Tech 2, so you would have to be an expert to tell them apart. The Tech 2 came with the necessary CANDI module for the later 9-5s, the connects between the car and the Tech 2. You will also need the Saab PC Card that has the firmware, with 148.0000 I believe being the latest version covering 1998-2012. These are Tech 2 look-alikes, not some kind of emulator, and come with cables and connectors and sometimes a case. You can do most things with the Tech 2, but if you want to do something like key programming you will need to set up TIS 2000 on a Windows XP computer and do some tricks to enable the security functions. There are plenty of discussions about that on Saabnet and other forums and you have to spend some time educating yourself about the installation. But the Tech 2 is probably all you need unless you want to get fancy. If you are feeling particularly flush and want to save some time, there are a few people selling laptops on eBay all set up with Saab TIS 2000 and the dongle to activate the security function. I have TIS 2000 on an old Panasonic Toughbook and it works well. If you work on your car the Tech 2 can pay for itself in a short time with labor rates being in the $100 an hour range. The menus are 1990s vintage and take a while to learn to navigate if you are more used to modern programming. Good luck.
