My friend and I am are going to look at a 2008 SAAB 97X today. Its got the 5.3 and a little over 100k on it and is gonna cost around 5k which in today's environment is pretty cheap. We haven't driven it or even sat inside it. It does seem to be a much better equipped car than a trailblazer

My friend has owned a trailblazer and liked it. He's mostly a truck guy and this little thing would fit him well as something comfortable, and cheap that can still tow a small load. He's very familiar with the 5.3 engine and gm drivetrain.

I seem to recall something about these cars is hard to deal with now that SAAB is gone, but I don't remember what it is. Is there some problem with programing the alarm or BCM or something? Obviously all the drivetrain parts should be available. I imagine any crash parts could be a bit of a challenge to find, but at this car's price point, it is probably scrap in even a minor accident.
