Now, I can't say much about the Viggen in snow BUT I can say that my 98 328i with traction control and Blizzak MZ-02's preformed substantially better than my 96 900S with stock tires. Of course, the tires have a lot to do with it and I'll now run snows on both SAAB's this winter and hopefully every winter from now on! BUT, my point is, a 3 series will do well enough in winter so long as it has snows and can clear the height of the snow. IMO, Between technology and really good rubber, RWD works fine in snow.
