It seems a trivial point to make, but it could ruin your day that Saabcity are the wrong side of London!
Especially if you're only doing a day trip, it can easily take 90 minutes to get from Saabcity to the start of the M3, which you take to get to the A303.
That said, it is a lovely drive, and Stonehenge has a habit of taking you by surprise as you crest the hill before it, no matter how often you have done it.
Bath is a beautiful city, but congested: it's a standard stop on all tourist trips. You might think of Wells instead, which has a staggering cathedral and is unspoilt and very atmospheric.
I'd strongly recommend an overnighter if you want to go out this way: as the Irishman said "I wouldn't start from here".
If you're set on a one day trip I'd think seriously about heading the other way and going to Canterbury. Fine town, great cathedral, and if you combine it with a trip to the coast at Whitstable (a really charming town) you can go to the famous fish restaurant there ("The Whitstable Oyster Company"). Or Dover as well - brilliant castle if you like that sort of thing.
When are you coming?
