Gotta go with Aaron on this one... My '88 9kt is at 235k, and I just started getting a hint of coolant odor when turning on the heat. I added a "cylinder" of Bars to it about two weeks ago, and haven't seen any problems. The coolant is clear, temp sits between 2/3 and 1/2 the gauge at all times, and the smell is gone. I *really* didn't want to do this, as the engine was recently rebuilt, but I *really* didn't wanna change the heater core... :) We'll see what happens, but so far I've seen no ill effects whatsoever...
