Wings & Wheels at the U.S. Air Force Museum Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Sun, 22 Apr 2001 11:12:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just a reminder that next Sunday, April 29, is the Wings & Wheels event at
the U.S. Air Force Museum, rain or shine! The museum is located at
Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton, Ohio. The theme -- "Wings & Wheels" --
is in tribute to Saab cars and Saab's aircraft heritage. This is a joint meeting
between the Tri-State Saab Club and the Saab Club of Central Ohio. All Saab
owners are welcome to attend.
The open event begins at 9 a.m. and continues throughout the day. The
museum is open 9-5, and is free to the public. If you've never been there,
you are in for a treat as it is one of the largest and best aircraft museums
in the world. Browse through the collection of aircraft at your own pace, and
join other Saab owners in the parking lot to look at and talk about Saab cars.
The only scheduled activity is lunch from 11:30 until 1:30 in a pavilion
located in the Memorial Park next to the museum. Bring a picnic lunch. I'm
not sure if there are grills there, so if you plan to cook, you might want to
pack the portable hibachi. Look for the Saab banners on the pavilion near
the reserved parking area. We will raffle off some donated items from Saab
Cars.
For information and directions to the U.S. Air Force Museum, visit their
Web site at http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/. If you have questions about the
event, e-mail me at dorzano@compuserve.com. If you plan to attend, please
RSVP via e-mail to me so that I can tell the museum how many reserve
parking spots we'll need.
We have about 50 people who have RSVP'd so far, and we hope to see lots
more Saab owners there!
