Bod Lutz history in the car business is legendary. A Swiss born / former
American marine pilot, Lutz is an unpretentious automotive genius who will
suffer no fools at GM. Rick Wagoner knows this all too well & should give
Lutz free reign. After an outstanding career at Ford, Ford-Europe, BMW &
Chrysler, the 69 year old surely has a few good designs left in him.

This is the man who fought Lee Iacoca tooth & nail to get the Viper, Ram
truck, Prowler & Concord/Intrepids built. If you remember Chrysler in the late 80's, Iacoca was still insisting on cars with square bodies, Landau
roofs & fake spoke wheels. He is also the driving force behind the PT
Cruiser. Now, whatever a Saab enthusiast thinks about these cars, you must
admit no car company took more risks to improve their stodgy image & poor
sales.

GM needs attractive, cutting edge cars. Can anyone name the last major hit
car the General had? Corvettes have always been hot. But a car like the '65
Impala SS, the GTO of the 60's, the early Toronados & Monte Carlos were
runaway hits. How many families in your neighborhood had an Olds 88 or
Buick Electra parked in the driveway? It's been a long time! Bob Lutz is
just the man to turn that monolith around. Oh, Ron Zirella (head of GM
marketing) call the movers, you're done! Maybe you can get your old job
at Bausch & Lomb back selling contact lenses!
