The gearing in my '87 SPG is such that 5th redlines at 120mph, ie: it revs prety high doing 80 too.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the turbo... between exaust gasses and compression, the turbo can/does get hotter than oil's boiling point. You don't want to turn the engine off while the turbo is that hot because the oil will 'coke' and eventualy block the small oil passages (equals dead turbo). Basically, drive lightly in the last few blocks to the house, and wait 10-40 seconds before killing the engine. The thought of burning your turbo out should make you wait long enough. heh.
