I was supposed to have class at 3pm yesterday on 23rd street. Luckily I was not supposed to be in the city earlier. My girlfriend was unfortunately at class at 9am and she said that the city was in chaos. People running around frantic and she saw some folks that were covered in dust and ash, in shock. The National guard was running around too pointing m16s at people (not helping the situation!). It took her all day to get out of the city through the PATH trains and then the NJ transit commuter trains.

By her account, people were scared all over the city and frantic... it was like a warzone. I'm sure there was much fear of another attack.

Where I live, I can see the WTC easily. I live on the hudson, between the GWB and the Lincoln tunnel and there were tons of people out there, it was pretty unbleivable. My friend Matt shot some digital photos from Jersey city and they're on my site here..

They quite good, but still unbelievable.

Thanks for your concern, I appreciate it. So far, classes are not cancelled for tomorrow, but I'm wary to return until next week. The Port Authority might not allow it anyway.
