I think saying that clinton-gore is responsible for this mess is just wishful thinking. Poppa bush and reagan before him did a lot to exacerbate the situation--in fact, what started bin laden off was the occupation of saudi arabia by american troops and we know who started that. The occupation wouldn't have been necessary at all if saddam huessein had just been taken out during bush's gulf war. hat's an oddity i'd still love to see explained.
I'm not saying anyo of this justifies the attack, but understandign why it happened is crucial. We've got to learn how to get along, because 100% security simply isn't possible in today's world. And even if it was, it isn't a lifestyle any of us would like.
I'm all for defending ourselves, but we really can't blow up bin laden and be satisfied. The next threats could come from africa, where we've propped up dictrators that have killed millions, from central or south america, where we've put humanitaians like pinochet and noriegua in power, etc.
