But then rain is really very normal here. We have had some very heavy rainy periods that left 1.5 - 2.0" of rain in a single day.
There is a good snow pack in the mountains, around 80-100 inches. The Cascade mountian passes are currently either bare and wet or packed snow and ice, but are open to all passanger vehicles. Traction tires and/or chains are not required unless there is a major snowstorm.
