I may have been a bit informal, but I never said that I bribed anyone! Nor did I suggest that anyone else do so. I gave a gift to a friend who did me a favor by rendering me free legal services. The friend rendered services by discussing a pending case with a prosecutor and reaching a plea bargain. Absolutely nothing unethical about it - surely you've heard of plea bargins?

Good luck planting doubt in the judge's mind based on the way the officer used the radar gun, or whether he was *sure* that he got a lock on a particular car. Not to mention that current generation guns don't just lock onto the biggest reflection (i.e., a truck) but lock the fastest signal, which the officer can visually corrolate to the fastest moving vehicle. Lou, it may have worked for you once in about 1980 (in NH, the most liberal state on these things - "Live Free or Die"), but the admissibility of radar readings is pretty much a given these days. Sure, you might get lucky challenging it, but not likely. Besides, the best case scenerio at that point is the prosecutor asks the officer if he made a visual estimate on the speed, to which the reply of course is exactly what the radar read. All officers are trained experts in observing and estimating speed - good luck trying to win on that argument!

I stand by my opinion - best course is to try to plea bargain it down, whether through a lawyer or on your own.
