U2 is as good as it gets these days for an event like Superbowl.
Bono is a prominent world figure and has a tight, talented band with
good melodies and good lyrics. It is no fluke that Secty' Paul O'Neil
took him up on an offer to accompany Bono to Africa. O'Neill could
use some of Bono's moxie.
I thought Sir Paul McCartney would draw a chorus of boos
from Irish taverns when he said U2 was a group of "good Irish
boys" but I don't know how he relates to them at the personal level.
Slate took a run at Bono saying he was a hypocrite and
his head was getting too large. I suppose if you're #1,
people are going to take a run at you.
Great entertainment yesterday all around. Best Superbowl ever.
