The aging process from teens to late 20's - early 30's is dramatic. Throw in 3rd World living conditions and the Talibans' dehumanizing treatment of women and voila: a young girl turns into a mature woman.
Wassaab, is it youth or disenchanted age that makes you cynical? The N.G. photog claims he has been "in the area" over a dozen times and has consistently asked if anyone has seen the "girl." That he found her, or she him, is a miracle. Lastly, do you really think National Geographic would get involved in an elaborate conspiracy hoax? To what purpose?
Be happy we live in a modern 1st World country with all the comforts that implies. The photo's real.
