Liam,

Just to assuage your ego, I agree with some of what you say. Our drivers training here (or lack of it) needs some serious work. And, perhaps our age related testing could use some work too. But your statement "I'm young (and I'm sure I'll catch hell from the board), but I consider myself a great driver." simply sounds like youthful feelings of invicibility.

The nice things about the track are 1. All the traffic goes the same direction. 2. Everyone wants to go fast or faster. 3. No on/off ramps for granny to enter backwards or at 35 mph. 4. The emergency crews are right there to peel your hide off the pavement. 5. Everyone there is a "great driver". 6. Innocent road users won't be hurt if you crash your car. 7. You can go as fast as you (or your car) wants and not worry about any of the above, permitting worry free and extended adrenalin highs.

There are times when I believe that the speed limit is too low for me and my car. But then, all I have to do is look around at whom is on the road with me, and it makes me think otherwise. Just my $.02 counter rant.
