What the crap. In the last 4 nights, I have been awakened by bikes 3 times. 3 times. Thats 75%. You want to ride your bike during the day and make a whole crap lot of noise? Ok, I can deal with that. I would prefer a little less noise, but I can deal. But seriously, at 3 am when I am sleeping, drive your car. It shows that you are massively ignorant to other's people's lives, or you are just plain selfish.

And what's up with the government on this one? Can no one regulate the dB output of bikes? Maybe a number under 100 would be nice. Then when I go to my next concert the music won't be drowned out by a guy on a bike. What would happen if your car was as loud as a bike? You would attract LOTS of BAD attention. And whats the argument for not limiting the dB output? Performance? Is that 5hp you would lose really that big a difference? Seriously, other manufacturers need to adapt to government regulations.

I am sick of waking up in the middle of the night to a bike, am sick of having to turn up the tv to hear the 11 o'clock news over a bike, and am sick of having to stop conversations while a bike goes by. I am sure I am not alone on this one.

Really, it is mostly American manufacturers. Japanese and European makes are really quite good in the sound department.

For the record, I have driven a few motorcycles, and I enjoyed it fully. I know why people ride. And I dont want to detract from their fun. But a persons fun at 3 am should not interfere with my sleep. If a neighbor has a loud party, I can call the cops and they quiet things down. Can't call the cops and say there was a really loud motorcycle that just woke me up. Is there a difference? The bike is disturbing lots more people than the party...
