It sounds like you should check into the fuel system first... Here are some things to consider given the age of the car:
1) Fuel pump could be on its way out... also a clogged fuel filter
2) you could have some debris in the gas tank causing you problems...
3) the catalytic converter on an older car is always a good bet when you're experiencing stumbling problems.
4) not sure how you tested the cap/rotor etc.. but my older accord used to be very finicky about the cap and rotor.. especially if I used aftermarket parts... So doublecheck these...as well as the wires
5) clogged injectors are a possibility, some of the quick oil change places can flush them out for about $50
6) distributor coil could be a problem as well.. I had a similar problem with my Toyota Corolla wagon not too long ago.. but my problem only occurred at low rpm's...
