My '96 900 ST has 238K km (~148K miles). The engine is very strong and the turbo is great. I had the clutch replaced in the fall along with the rear transmission seal. Lots of little things don't work (power antenna, A/C, heated seats, alarm) but the drivetrain and transmission are great. The A/C is a lost cause because the evaporator is cooked. I live in Nova Scotia with very mild summers, so I can survive without A/C. I'm going to fix the heated seats this fall, and the antenna this summer, both are DIY. I have no idea what's wrong with the alarm, and I'm unwilling to spend money on it. I'm not afraid of the car getting stolen, so the only advantage would be remote keyless entry... I think that the NG900s can be just as reliable as the classics, but there were some bugs early on in their production so many say to stay away from '94 and '95 900s, and also to stay away from the v6 models that have timing belt issues. Look for a well maintained car and I'm sure it'll be a good ride.
