This morning I ran in to George Mason Univ from Centreville, and when I got there I called my brother for a ride home. He picked me up in my dad's 1996 Sable, and we get about a 3 miles from home on the Fairfax County Parkway. Well we are in the right lane, because we're going to exit, and there is a guy on our tail about 3 feet back. Much closer than your average tailgater. My brother, Mr. Poor Impulse Control, decides to hammer the brakes 4 or 5 times until we go from about 60mph down to about 35mph. I am yelling at my brother to stop, because he is either going to cause an accident or piss the guy off even more. I would NEVER have hit the brakes in the first place, as I think most people would not have. I guess my brother does not have enough excitement in his life or something.
So after braking to about 35mph, my brother stomps on the gas and we get up to about 80mph trying to get away from this guy who is matching our speed. He was in a silver early 90s Lumina. So we get off at our exit, sitting at the redlight, and he pulls up next to us and he looks like a total thug. Dressed like a thug, acting like a thug, probably a thug. He then gets out of his car and starts moving to the drivers door at which point my brother runs the redlight to get away from this psycho cause he probably has a gun or something. There were no cars coming. We get to the next light about 50 feet forward and look back and the guy is standing in the middle of the road waving gang signs or something. We get 2 lights ahead, just before pulling onto Route 29, waiting for the light to change befoer the merge ramp. The guy drives up behind us, gets out of his car again, and rushes my brothers door. The light had just turned red, so the intersecting traffic was just starting to move. We went through to intersection, causing those cars to squeal to a stop. Look back, the guy is standing there in the middle of traffic making all kinds of motions.
So we get onto Route 29 headed for Centreville, going really fast trying to get away from the guy. We got very far ahead of him, because he had to get back in his car of course. We look back about 3 miles later and there is his silver car coming up behvind us very fast, we take a right onto Stringfellow Road, trying to not come to a stop anywhere. We finally decide the police station is too far away (too many places where the car could come to a stop and he could get out, etc). So we get into Walmart and pull right up to the front of the store, where on Saturday afternoon, there are tons of people going into and out of the store. We sat there for about 10 minutes with him sitting about 50 feet behind us in front of the store, waiting for us to leave. Well, he eventually decides not to make a show or something, so he drives away. I figured if this guy was REALLY psycho, he might wait for us at the end of the parking lot or something. So I toldmy brother to wait another 10 minutes, just idling in front of Walmart. There are tons of people millling around, but people and their kids too which made me want to get out of there before this guy did something dangerous. Well, we are sitting there, and about 5 minutes after this guy had pulled away we look down the parking lot and there is someone who looks like him walking calming up to the store in a crowd of people. He sees us looking at him, and he immediately sprints at us, jumping over the hood of a car that was stoppped at the crosswalk to let some people cross. We had to wait until just about the last moment cause there was a woman walking in front of our car, and this thug is like running through all the people to get to us. This is Fairfax, things like this are supposed to happen in the hood or something, not Fairfax. So my brother hits the gas and we screech out of there, almost hitting the guy head on. We race down one of the parking lot aisles, and he is sprinting back to his car. I'm sure this scared the hell out of everyone standing there. What a total psycho. All predictability of this guys actions are totally out the windows, Im just surprised he doesnt have a gun (or pulled it yet).
So we get to the end of the Walmart parking lot, speed out onto a sidestreet and carefully running a redlight to get out on the highway. Well we came up to a light that crosses Fair Lakes Promenade and it was just turning red but we blew threw the yellow and it goes down this little hill to this big TRW complex. We pull in there onto the top of the parking garage which leads up to the front lobby of TRW, which is closed of course on Saturday but I ran up to the door and there was a security guard, and he let me and called his supervisor while my brother waited outside with the car. Fortunately, he didnt see us duck into the TRW complex, so we pretty much evaded him finally. We chilled out in the lobby for about 15 minutes and I called the police. Its funny, I told the police about all this insanity and all they wanted to know was whether I managed to get his plates, of course no, so they just directed me to a voicemail thing and I left a message and some cop is going to stop by my house early next week I guess. My heart rate is coming back toa a normal rate now. I went to the DMV right after this happened to get the plates changed on my dad's car, in case this psycho feels like coming after me or something.
I guess I just wanted to get this out of my system. My brain is trying to make some sensical conclusion out of this, all I can think of is I wish my brother wasnt such an idiot, hitting the brakes, and I wish all this gangster trash would get out of Fairfax and go back to the hood. Just had to get this off my chest.
