My SPG saved me but made the ultimate sacrifice

I have been an infrequent poster to Saabnet. However, I regularly read and enjoy following the threads on various Saabnet bulletin boards. That said, I thought I'd share a little of my pain with fellow saabers. I was on my way home from work the other day, when some pawn in the cosmic comedy of life did something profoundly stupid. He suddenly decided to turn left off of the one way, multilane street we were on. The problem was that he was in the far right-hand lane and I was in the far left-hand lane. His decision was so abrupt that I had no opportunity to avoid him. The noses of our cars clashed and I ricocheted at high speed directly into the narrow edge of a concrete wall. The SAAB engineering in my C900 SPG lived up to its reputation, letting me walk away from disaster. The emergency personnel and police marveled at my now totalled car. They couldn't believe that I wasn't dead or seriously injured. One of the firemen said to me, "That car did its job. If I were you, I would go get the same kind of car." I think that's just what I'll do.
