...it is a reflection on the type of salespeople that they hire.
As an example, at a Saab dealership in Toronto I had dropped in to pick up some parts and came out to see two salespeople talking about my car and another customer's car. Turns out that they reconized the fact that the 3 door hatch in silver isn't that common, and to top it off there were two parked side by side (identical model, but his had more toys on it).
We then had a conversation about Saabs in general, some of the unique things about them like:
1. no more hatch
2. coupe's are gone for now
3. excellent handling dynamics of the new model
4. "looking forward to a car that will compete with BMW, Audi, Volvo, etc"
5. lower starting price on the new model (lots of goodies to start with)
....etc.
They spoke relatively intelligently about Saabs and I would gladly deal with either one of these gentlemen when buying.
You can try to lead them in the right direction, but if they are not interested in the vehicle and it's uniqueness I doubt it will be of any benefit.
Regards,
Theo
