Found this under older model info: Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Wed, 14 Aug 2002 22:32:48 In Reply to: turbo = DI, naturally aspirated = dist. & wires nm, MJM [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 14 Aug 2002 11:25:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
"Every 1994 Saab 9000, whether equipped with Saab's 2.3-Liter, naturally-aspirated engine or turbocharged powerplant, now features the award-winning Saab Trionic engine management system as standard equipment. Previously only available on turbocharged models, Trionic not only improves engine performance, but contributes to reduced fuel consumption and exhaust emission levels. The innovative system was selected as a finalist in the automotive category of the 1993 Discover Magazine Awards for Technological Innovation"
But I can't find info on the early NG 900s. It would just seem weird that the same 2.3i 150hp engine would have DI and trionic in a '94 9000 and dist. and wires in a '94 900. But it would probably have been cheaper to make.
