I remember awhile back you posed the same dilemma regarding a Cadillac Seville. Are these questions just hypotheticals are you seriously considering the car?
As for the Maxima, I had a '92 SE 5-speed, the first year with the 24-valve 3-liter V6. It was a VERY nice engine and I generally liked the car. I traded it in b/c the lifters were going (it would rattle like crazy) and I did not want to invest $1K+ on a fix - I added 90 weight oil and sold it (to a dealership).
Since your 9000 is in good shape, why do you want to sell it? Change of pace?
Also, it suprises me that the trunk has the same loading capacity as the 9000. My Maxima's back seat didn't so that would seriously limit your ability to haul large objects.
