For the past few weeks I have been having som weird sound problems on my pc. Every now and again the sound suddenly becomes all distorted with some kind of high pitched whining. This problem comes and go's, and I've never heard it for more than a minute or so. Usually it comes on with 30 sec. 5 min. interval. Untill today, now I don't have this hight pitched whine any more, but the sound breaks up almost constantly, a may get 5 to 10 sec. of good playback but then it starts to break up again.
I'm pretty sure this is not a hardwear problem becaus it seems to be at it's wors't when playing flash files and at a minimum when I watch DVD's on my computer.
I have a 1,2 GHz AMD K7 processor
256Mb of 266MHz DDR ram
MS Windows XP Home edition
I think the sound card is called NVIDIA Nforce Audio,
Do you guys have any idea what this might be? I've never heard of such a problem myself before. The computer is still under full warranty so I could take it back to the store and have them fix it, but that would mean I would have to do without saabnet for maby as much as a week, and I'm not sure if would survive that long without TSN;) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
