Seat upholstery replacement: DIY?

Has anyone here ever replaced the leather upholstery on a Saab seat? How hard is it?
My mother (who unfortunately is 1500 miles away) is looking at a '98 900 with seats that are in rather nasty condition.
I've found what looks like a good source for replacement seatcovers on the web (http://www.saabstuff.com/seatcovers.html), but the question is what does it take to install them? Is this a job that can be done by someone with moderate mechanical skills?
Alternatively, does anyone know of a place near Gloucester, MA where this work could be done - hopefully for a reasonable price?
Thanks!
Eric Law
