This is one reason I try to avoid purchasing things on Ebay.
The only thing you might do is write a letter to Blaupunkt, with glowing praise for their previous units you have used and what you liked about them, etc. Then explain how disappointed you are in the CD51 and how you'll never buy another Blaupunkt again if they don't give you some sort of accomodation to address your issues.
Chances are, you'll get nothing, but who knows?
If Blaupunkt didn't have such a non-existant dealer network, (at least here in the NW), you could actually go and audition them before you buy, and there just possibly might not be so many on Ebay. One seriously wonders where these hundreds and hundreds of brand new Blaupunkt decks (all current models) on Ebay are coming from? SOMEBODY at Blaupunkt has to be selling them to these folks (or to some other wholesale establishment), because people sure aren't buying them at Crutchfield or Fry's and reselling them. Wouldn't it be cool if companies would actually honor warranties regardless of where you bought their product, as long as it was new and came with the registration card?
Good luck with whatever you do!
