All cars have gone this way. They really have. Particularly the Japanese. The very latest Altima, Camry, and Accord have been given this atrocious "tall" shape with "high" sides, fatass bumpers, and no attention paid to the look of the vehicle from all angles nor the true lines of it. The only carmaker I see as having avoided this trend is Volvo, with the muscular S60. But who knows, with the XC90. Saab has avoided the demise to some extent, but even with as much as I LOVE the new 9-3 Sport Sedan and would absolutely buy one as my only car if I had the money, this vehicle is completely devoid of true classic Saab styling. Oh sure, they sorta kept the grille and the center-mounted ignition switch (which I adore, by the way). But look at that atrocious C-pillar and the rear edge of the rear windows. As nerdy as it sounds, it makes me genuinely sad. Oh boo hoo, I know. Things need to change. It's ok. It's fine. It's healthy. It's just a car.
But it's sad.
