You might try a Snow Brum. It's a flexible foam rectangle about 15 x 5 inches or so on the end of a telescoping pole. Available in some parts stores. I think it's a European product. My mother-in-law gave me one she'd never used. I was skeptical but it does work well, especially if you have to move a lot of snow or if it's real wet stuff.
But I find that after a couple of pushes with a regular brush the bristles have enough snow in them that there's no way they will damage the car.
