The old Hummer H1's were terrible. The new H2 is just a derivitive of a Suburban or Escalade in 3/4 ton fashion. They have every luxury amenity availible. They're actually shorter than a 9-5 SportWagon! And the width is only a skosh wider than a Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade. They are the real deal when it comes to off road capability. Ground clearance, approach angles, skid plates are all there. They're big, and heavy and they have a 3/4 ton truck ride, but you could say the same of any full size GM truck chassis.
They're about the same price as an Escalade $50-60k. And resale should be fantastic as they are quite popular and selling for MSRP and over.
Nothing quite makes the automotive statement that an H2 does and one gal said getting her's in bright yellow put an exclaimation point on that statement! There isn't really alot of downside as compared to other sport utilities in it's class.
