At least for blood viscosity. Inadequate water consumption, a poor diet too high in saturated fats,smoking and lack of exercize can lead to a thickening of the blood and can strain the heart as it deals with clogged arteries. I think they have an analytical tool to measure blood viscosity. Even if you are in your twenties you should read up on this stuff, can make your mid life crisis more fun.
As far as mucus, you may think its funny, but its snot.
