en route to the SOC 2001, I ran over something which cut a quarter-sized scallop in the right front tire. This at about 80 mph with a fully loaded vehicle (3 occupants, boxes of NINES, full photo regalia, and Mrs. G's habit of packing as if there's no return ;-)). No drama, no loss of control, just the realization that our travel schedule was blown...
Well, no drama until we found that the spare was uninflated, the jack became stuck in its mount, the local AAA service number was not picking up, it was about 116F in the shade, but we weren't...
