As you can see from the picture atleast they designed it to have the entire assembly come out nicely. At the front you could undo all the brake lines etc.. and gearbox, suspension all came with it. But you have to use a dial indicator to time the cams exactly.
On some earlier models like the 308 you can't take the entire powertrain out easily. But changing the clutch on a 308 is different but similar to a classic 900. It would be sort of like removing the chain drive on the 900 except its gears and after removing a few of them the end cover unbolts to access the clutch.
