I've used the spare a few times in my c900's. Those spares are amazingly still fine at holding pressure, but they are awfully old. I should probably replace the rubber!
The 9-5 is another matter. The road jack is junk. The tire iron is too short to be useful (so I keep a length of pipe in the trunk well). But if the jack is crappy and that jack points are terrible, that really makes it hard to do much. I got a flat recently in that car, but luckily it was only about 5 miles from home. Got my wife to pick me up, drove home, got the full size garage jack in the trunk (back breaker!) and a full size 9-5 wheel, drove back, and properly swapped it out.
Starting to see why some like run flats... but I am also aware of the downsides of runflats (why I don't have them)...
