Discounts on new 2018 models? A quick search could not find any new 2018 models on Dealer lots. Stelvio reliability forums report a barrage of defective Gel Cell batteries and software updates.
I wonder if a standard lead-acid could replace the Gel Cell? Its location beneath the floor of the cargo bay may exclude a lead-acid for safety reasons.
Like SAABs, a weak battery causes all sorts of electrical gremlins in this vehicle.
Apparently it is easy to defeat the Stop-Start feature. Both good latches contain a limit switch which is tied to the Stop-Start capability. Of one switch is disconnected/open the feature is disabled, it both are disconnected/open the system sees the hood as being raised, warning light illuminated on dash, and Remote Start disabled.
