The "cool" factor was certainly there. My wife liked the built-in sunshades for the rear seats better (part of the package). Now granted this was in TX and in 100 degree heat...it just did not cool the car down that much. I know it was working because it made a slight hum. Naybe it would be better in a more average summer climate. Overall I wasn't that impressed not for a $2K option, but it sure was a nice talking piece when people drove in my car, not that the allroad wasn't a discussion piece itself.
I also remember on audiworld that someone (or two) had theirs "blow-out" and shatter to pieces. I bet thats a pricey part:)
Honestly the only thing I really regret with the allroad was the fact that I bought the tiptronic automatic vs. a 6spd. I would bet that if I had the 6spd (despite some electrical gremlins) I would likely still drive it today. Its worst feature was its gas mileage.
