As seems to happen strangely often, I'd echo everything cwilson said. I'd add that, as nice as the '91-'93 models look, I'd probably avoid them. They are very hard to find, you'll pay a premium, and they added a bunch of extra weight without any power increase to offset it. They are rather sluggish.
I believe that '87ish was the first year that Alfa started galvanizing the bodies, so that's a good thing to keep in mind to avoid rust. Of course, if you're in a generally non-rusty state that may not matter.
On that subject, if you happen to be in California my neighbor is selling her '88 (I think) Veloce. It's a weekend driver, in great shape. It's a beautiful car, and she spares no expense on it.
