What TKC said... it's very likely the valves are toast... I suppose it's possible that the belt broke in a driveway or something and there isn't much damage, but my experience is they always die on the highway - where the motor has plenty of time to slam pistons into valves.
I'd expect you're looking at an entire engine swap - at the very least you'll need new valves and there may be damage to the pistons as well. By the time you deal with that, a used engine may be a cheaper solution.
As far as the car goes, my gf drives a '92 LS. It's pretty nimble, and very easy to drive. The car is exceptionally light (<2600lbs IIRC) so the small motor really has no trouble moving the car around. Gearing is quite short - I think the '92 turns about 1000rpm for every 20mph in 5th. It gets a little buzzy, I suppose, but they're fine cars anyway. It isn't comfortable (for me) for very long, and you feel like your butt is dragging on the pavement, even in a stock car. *Personally*, a 1st gen Integra would not be my choice for a daily driven, and I think I'd rather spend my $1k on a fixer-upper Saab than a fixer-upper Integra. OTOH, with proper maintenance, the Integra will probably be 100% bulletproof... ;)
