Don't get me wrong, I'm certain it's a pretty nice car but for $58k, it's way overpriced. Yes, they start at $54k but properly load it up and it's pushing $58k (for the sedan that is).
I've always liked the M3 and thought if they brought the 4-door back I'd be very tempted to get one but now that it's here, I'm just not that enamored with it. Obviously the price is the biggest hurdle that I have, especially knowing that at the end of the day it's just another car. It depreciates (although a much slower rate than the average car) every day and with every mile that gets put on it, gets door dings and rock chips, and it's full potential can't really be used on public roads.
I can't help but think of the Pontiac G8 when I think of the M3 4-door. Yes, they are certainly in different classes but load up a G8 and you're around $32k. That's a $26k "savings". I guess I could find a lot more uses for $26k than to have it sunk into a car. World-class or not, $58k is a lot of money for a car.
