And even then, with a '99 I'd be a bit leery. The earlier Boxsters had a variety of engine issues that often resulted in engine replacement. Some were even paid out of warranty, but at 10 years old that would not be a possibility for you. The engine issues seemed to only happen in a small percentage of cars, but still, you have to think about it.
Just remember, Porsches can cost a lot to maintain, and parts can be pricey. And if you'll be taking it to someone for all the wrenching it can be an expensive indulgence.
All that said, though, if the car checks out when looked over by an experienced Porsche tech, then it's probably good. The price seems high to me, but I haven't checked prices lately. OTOH, if you are really just looking for a fast 2-seater and don't need the Porsche cache, consider the Honda S2000. Might be a better bet for overall reliability and repair.
