Been toying w/the idea for a while, though prior to this car I had never even sat in one! Much appeals to me about them, at least the old ones; very spartan, simple, no-nonsense. And I've tried my hand at parking lot autocrossing w/a much larger car & loved it, but that car wasn't right for that sort of thing. Can't imagine a more fun car to dance thru the cones-- next summer! Last Friday I saw this car advertised on the net by private seller; just posted that morning. Loved what I saw. Owner sent me more photos; 90% sure it was good car after that. Rounded up a friend w/truck/trailer & hit road 5:30am Sat; 550 miles ea way. Only took a hour there to look, drive, write check, transfer title, load 'er up and head home. Have now examined closely on hoist and found it's been completely rebuilt/restored and no rust to be found. All brake lines, etc are new. Very happy so far. List of minor things to correct & freshen. Will take to area classic car events, drive to watch the vintage races, etc. Will also connect w/local sports car club for wkend auto-x events. Calling Tirerack for new set of Yoko A008's very soon! I feel like a kid at Disneyland right now. If you have the urge, start watching for sale ads on Minimania.com, e-bay, etc. Get to know what prices are, what you want, etc. And if you have some funds, go for it. The few miles I've driven it so far have been a real hoot. The handling is like nothing else I've driven; feels like a go-cart, only w/surprising amount of room for driver. I'm just over 6 ft tall, and I have lotsa room; even head room for helmet! YIPEEEEEEEEE....
