Other Cars Bulletin Board | |
It just seemed like it was always something, which considering I was making a payment too was more than aggravating. It was the first car I financed in close to twenty years. It started with the brakes making noise, so I spend money to replace them and they still made noise. The starter was hanging up intermittently so I replaced that. I kept getting a hot oil smell. Took me months the figure out it was the CV joints leaking onto the cat converters. The heat makes the grease leak out and there's no real cure. The struts tend to need replacement around 60K to 80K. The suspension makes all kinds of clunking sounds and there's no cure. I wore out a set of $800 tires in about ten thousand miles. It needed new spark plugs, but they're so hard to get to the dealer charges 4 hours and no one else even wanted to do it. It got about 15 MPG in the winter. It had a dashboard squeak for which there was no cure. Finally the differential started going out (at 80K). Other than that it was great.
